Citations in Library Databases

Most library databases will generate citations for you after you have selected a specific item within the database.  Below are quick instructions for finding the citation generators in the databases.  

Note: Proofread the citations generated in the databases; they could contain errors!

EBSCO

Click the Cite button on the left-hand side of the screen.

Choose the APA citation style.  Copy and paste the citation.  Be sure to proofread for accuracy.

Books 24/7

Click on the cite button located near the book's bibliographic information.

Choose the APA citation style.  Copy and paste the citation.  Be sure to proofread for accuracy.

ProQuest

Click the Cite button at the top of the screen.  Make sure APA citation style is selected from the dropdown menu.

Copy and paste the citation.  Be sure to proofread it for accuracy.

Gale Virtual Reference Library

Click on Citation Tools.  Then, select APA style, copy and paste, and proofread the citation for accuracy.

LexisNexis

Click the Bibliogrpahic Export icon.

Select "Display Bibliographic Information". The, select APA.
