As a CSU Global student, you are able to utilize online tutoring. Online tutoring is CSU-Global’s free, web-based tutoring service that can be accessed by selecting “Online Tutoring.” You can also access online tutoring in the left-hand menu of your online courses or through your student portal (labeled "Online Tutoring").

We partnered with Pear Deck to provide CSU-Global students with 24/7, on demand online tutoring. You can connect with live tutors who are highly qualified to provide one-on-one support in over 300 subjects.
You can also submit a paper for review to receive feedback from writing tutors in areas such as crafting a thesis statement, topic development or maybe you need help integrating research. Here are some things to keep in mind when using Pear Deck for subject tutor help or in the Writing Lab.
- Students are provided with 600 minutes (10 hours) of tutoring minutes a month. Please plan your time accordingly so that you do not run out of tutoring minutes.
- Once you click on "Request a live tutor" button, you will select "What subject area do you need help with?"
- You can choose Math, Humanities, Natural Science, Social Science, Computer Science, Spanish, or Other.
- The next page will narrow to sub-topics like Anatomy and Physiology, Or Physics under "Natural Science."
- Once you click "Next," you will have a chance to Let your tutor know how they can help you (optional) in a short answer text box and upload a file to share with your tutor. This file could be the assignment prompt, rough draft, practice questions, etc.
- The next step is to simply "Request a Tutor."
- You can also "Browse tutors" to see who is "Online now" or "Tutors I've worked with before" to connect with a favorite tutor.

Writing Lab
This is where you will get an experienced writing tutor, or English teacher to review your paper and provide feedback. You will receive feedback and detailed comments within 12 hours. Be sure to give yourself enough time to make any suggested corrections or improvements when submitting a paper to the Writing Lab. Here are some things to keep in mind when submitting your paper for review and feedback in the Pear Deck - Writing Lab:
- Once you click "Submit your writing assignment," you will be asked to provide a title and description of the help needed for the assignment.
- The next screen gives you the option to select APA (American Psychological Association) as the appropriate format for your paper.
- Followed by 3 specific areas you want the tutor to focus and provide feedback on.
- The next screen is where you will upload the file which has to be in .docx format.
- You will receive a paper with highlighted areas for improvement in margin comments & an overall feedback document.
- Be sure to review your experience and you have the opportunity to work with that tutor again by clicking on the heart icon which adds them to your "favorite" list.
